Amboli (Teh: Sawantvadi, Dist: Sindhudurga) - is known as Cherapunji of Maharashtra. Amboli has 2 unique habitats which includes Rainforests and globally threatened laterite plateau. And with these 2 unique ecosystems - biodiversity here flourishes! There are N number of endemic species of flora and fauna found here and some are still to be discovered. I had recently visited Amboli this monsoon to look for some lifers. And in form of this series I'm going to present my travel, observations and other informative videos to you.
Episode 1: I stayed in "Mrugaya Nature Retreat" during my visit to Amboli; the place which is surrounded by nature and has its own wildlife sanctuary. Great people with good hospitality, great food and overall a very clean place. In this episode I'm giving a short tour to "Mrugaya Nature Retreat"
Episode 2: Non-stop rain, water streams, nights spend in forests, frogs croaking in a chorus – this is called Amboli! In this episode I'm showing you glimpses of my night visit in Amboli in search of amphibians and my 2 lifers -Malabar Gliding Frog & Amboli Tiger Toad.
Episode 3: Visiting the Amboli Vanodyan again during a day; in search of some additional species. Saw few orchids, insects, some butterflies, frogs and eggs of Amboli Bush frog. Day time in Vanodyan was quite scenic. Place was very scenic with reach variety of flora and fauna.
